These terms are an agreement between you and rooms-eg.com ("we", "us") and cover your use of the website. By creating an account or using the site you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use rooms-eg.com.

1. What rooms-eg.com is

rooms-eg.com is a listing platform. It connects people looking for an apartment, a room or a bed in Egypt with the owners and landlords who offer them. We are not a party to any rental agreement, we are not a real-estate broker, we do not own or inspect the properties listed, and we do not collect rent, deposits or any other payment between users.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• Use your real name and a mobile number and email address you control. We may ask you to verify them.
• One account per person. Do not share your account or sign in as someone else.
• Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away at support@rooms-eg.com if you think someone else has access to it.
• If you sign in with Google or Facebook, those companies' terms also apply to that sign-in.

3. Posting listings

• Only list a place you own or are authorised to rent out.
• Listings must be accurate and current: the real price, location, size and conditions, and photos of the actual place.
• Every new or edited listing is reviewed before it is published. We may reject a listing and tell you why, or remove it later if it breaks these terms.
• Listings expire after 60 days. You can renew a listing from your account while it is still available. Please remove a listing once the place is rented.
• Featuring a listing is at our discretion and is currently free.
• You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, resize and share it in order to run and promote rooms-eg.com. The licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies kept briefly in backups.

4. What is not allowed

You must not use rooms-eg.com to:

• post fake, misleading, duplicate or unavailable listings, or bait-and-switch prices;
• ask for money, a deposit or personal documents before a viewing, or run any scam;
• discriminate against people because of religion, origin, nationality or disability. Stating that shared housing is for men or for women is allowed;
• list property that is illegal to rent, or post illegal, offensive, sexual or violent content;
• post anyone else's personal data or photos without their permission, or impersonate anyone;
• collect contact details of other users, send spam, or use bots, scrapers or anything that gets around our limits or security;
• upload malware or try to disrupt or break into the site.

5. Dealing with other users

Any agreement you make with an owner or tenant is between the two of you. For your safety:

• view the place in person before you pay anything;
• never transfer money to someone you have not met, or for a place you have not seen;
• check the owner's identity and sign a written contract;
• report anything suspicious with the "Report" button on the listing.

6. Reviews and housing requests

Reviews must describe your own genuine experience with the owner. You cannot review yourself, and each person can leave one review per owner. Reviews are checked before they appear. Housing requests must be real and must contain accurate contact details. We may use a request to suggest matching listings to you.

7. Reports and enforcement

Anyone can report a listing. We review reports and may edit or remove content, reject listings, or suspend or deactivate accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk, with or without notice, depending on how serious the problem is.

8. Fees

Using rooms-eg.com is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will explain the price before you pay, and nothing already free will be charged for without notice.

9. Our content

The rooms-eg.com name, logo, design and software belong to us. You may not copy them or use them to suggest a connection with us without written permission.

10. No guarantees

We work hard to keep listings accurate and the site available, but we provide rooms-eg.com "as is". We do not guarantee that any listing is accurate, available or suitable, that any user is who they say they are, or that the site will always be error-free or online.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Egyptian law, rooms-eg.com is not liable for losses that come from dealings between users, from content posted by users, or from being unable to use the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using rooms-eg.com and delete your account at any time. See Delete your account and data. We may suspend or close accounts as described in section 7.

13. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is explained in our privacy policy.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell signed-in users on the site or by email. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any dispute that cannot be settled amicably will go to the competent courts in Cairo.
